It is His Glory to Overlook an Offense

Word of the Day

As I was desperate to hear from Him this morning this is what he said:

Proverbs 18:11-13

11 Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. 12 A king's wrath is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass. 13 A foolish son is ruin to his father, and a wife's quarreling is a continual dripping of rain.

Lately I have been struggling with some things going on in my heart and in a relationship that I have. The Lord used this to show me my sin and to help me reconcile.

I asked to meet this person for coffee this morning, and I shared this verse with them and the things that the Lord was stirring in my heart. Then I asked for forgiveness on a specific issue as well as "anything else" The Lord really used this time to heal a relationship that was beginning to compound with relational strife.

Lord, thank you for the piercing truth of your word to reveal the thoughts and intentions of my heart! Thank you for your Holy Spirit and the empowerment of faith that you freely give me. Thank you for your son Jesus as the ultimate example of how I should be willing to suffer for others.
