The Harvest is Plentiful

Updated Blog2

I have been freshly convicted that I love my comfort more than I have realized.  Our neighborhood is ripe with opportunity but as an introvert I struggle with getting out there and mixing it up.  I’ve recently realized it’s less about me being an introvert but rather that I idolize comfort.

Since getting out there we’ve had the opportunity to point people to the only hope for their situation.  Jesus.  We again had two opportunities during a Halloween block party.  It’s exciting to be used by God but we need to first get past ourselves.

The host of a recent podcast I was listening to said, “You normally know what you should be doing.  Just do it.”  Pretty simple but profound.  Just start doing what we know God wants us to do and watch what happens when we stop quenching the Spirit.

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
