Word of the Day: Psalm 81:10

Word of the Day

Psalm 81:10

I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

Open Your Mouth Wide

The LORD never tired of reminding His people that, "It was I ... who rescued you." He found it necessary to give them stern warnings as found in verses 8 and 9, "Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you; O Israel, if you would listen to Me! Let there be no strange god among you; nor shall you worship any foreign god." But, the history of the people was full of examples of willful disobedience. Verse 11 says, "But My people did not listen to My voice, and Israel did not obey Me."

Verse 1 says, "Sing for joy ... Shout joyfully ... Raise a song (sing)." All require an open mouth. But it also includes God saying, "Open your mouth and I will fill it." They were to feed and live on the truth being presented to them.

And,also for me, opening my mouth includes sharing my faith in the Lord Jesus.
