Word of the Day: Psalm 59:16-17

Word of the Day

Psalm 59:16-17

But as for me I shall sing of Your strength; yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your loving-kindness in the morning. For You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my strength, I will sing praises to You; for God is my stronghold, the God who shows me loving-kindness.

Songs in the Darkness

The introduction to this Psalm (part of Scripture) says, "A Miktam of David, when Saul sent men and they watched the house in order to kill him".

I can't imagine what it would be like to have our home surrounded by a bloodthirsty mob. No police available. No 911 to call.No appeal to reason. A scene of sheer rage and wickedness.

David was a fugitive from the mentally unbalanced king Saul.He was surrounded by ruthless men ,who were under the orders of Saul.Their mission was to kill David.

But God saved him.

And David sang.

He sang about the mercy and might of God.

Great music from adversity.

Let's sing!

Blessings,

Tony
