As I study and prepare for leading the sheep entrusted to my care, its very tempting to think to myself, 'this is what I need to say' or 'that is what I need to do'. In the midst of these thoughts, I drift away from the simple, basic yet POWERFUL truth that God's Word is the only change agent that will affect the hearts of his people.

Lord, please help me to proclaim your word in a humble, passionate & clear way that will change the heart of your people. Please keep me from getting in the way and thinking that I have anything to contribute to your perfect word. I pray your word would change my heart and the hearts of the people around me.
