Send Me a Skilled Man

Word of the Day

2 Chronicles 2:6-7

6 But who is able to build him a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him? 7 So now send me a man skilled to work in gold, silver, bronze, and iron, and in purple, crimson, and blue fabrics, trained also in engraving, to be with the skilled workers who are with me in Judah and Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.

Often times when moving forward on something that I know God has asked me to do my prayer requests can often be self-centered. "Lord give me ____ to help get through this." is often filled with things like wisdom, patience, leadership, passion, perseverance, love etc. These are all good things to pray for and ultimately its the motive of why I ask for these things that determines if I'm being selfish or not... BUT here was the point. I find it rare, that I am begging the Lord to send me a "skilled man." Someone wired different than me that would be a better fit than me for the challenge. Solomon just inherited the largest amount of money known to man to get ready to build the temple for the Lord and his prayer was... "Lord, send me a skilled man."

Lord, I pray that you would get my eyes of myself and send me a skilled man to help me accomplish the things that I know you have called me to do. Grant me love and patience to build him up and help him feel confident in the role that it needed for you to accomplish your purpose.

Blessings,
