Long Live The King!

Word of the Day

1 Kings 1:39-41
Zadok the priest then took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!” All the people went up after him, and the people were playing on flutes and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth shook at their noise.
Now Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished eating. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, “Why is the city making such an uproar?”

When King Solomon was anointed King, the trumpet blew and all the people who were present said, "Long live King Solomon"! This was followed by music and rejoicing with great joy. These loud shouts of joy and music were so loud that it says "the earth shook (Lit. was split) at their noise". Not only was the earth affected by all this celebration, but even the Kings enemies heard it about a half-mile away, during their own celebration. Upon hearing the news of what all the noise was about, all the kings enemies were terrified!

Christian, we have our own king, and His name is not David, nor is it Solomon but it is Jesus. Not only is Jesus a king but He is the King of Kings. Not only is our king worthy of praise but He is worthy of all praise.

Are the praises we shout, filled with Joy?
Is the song that we daily sing titled, "Long Live King Jesus"?
Does the earth shake at the should of our celebration?
Can the enemy of our King hear our joyful shouts from a distance?
Is the enemy terrified at the news of what we are shouting?

The answer should be YES... but is it?

1O clap your hands, all peoples;
Shout to God with the voice of joy.
2For the LORD Most High is to be feared,
A great King over all the earth...

6Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with a skillful psalm.
8God reigns over the nations,
God sits on His holy throne.
Psalm 47:1-2,6-8
