Kids Say the Darndest Things

Word of the Day

I have already prepared myself for the day when my kids come home and ask me questions about their homework and I have no idea what they are talking about(I am gonna pretend like that hasn't happened already and that I have never searched google for an answer). However, I don't know why it surprises me when one of my kids asks a question about the Bible that challenges or just inspires me.

We have been having Owen, our 8 year old, read a chapter in John each night, take notes ask questions etc etc. Often the questions are whats a pharisee or whats a rabbi(dreading the "whats circumcision question") but last night he was reading in chapter 4 and he asked, what is living water.

Maybe its just me and you don't do this but sometimes I think I take words or phrases I have heard all my life and just accept the meaning versus actually taking the moment to understand what is being communicated.

John 4:10
10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

So as I sat there explaining to him how much we need water and without we can't survive I found my self reflecting on the truth of that statement. We need the living water, we should crave the living water, we should daily plead and beg for the living water.

So quit drinking Soda or coffee and get you some of that Living Water!
