It really is a happy labor day! For we are given the victory over sin by God through His Son, Jesus Christ! I was reading today in my daily bible and I love how the calendar and what I was reading aligned.

Paul writting to the church has much to say in 1 Corinthians, but today a couple things caught my eye. He writes in 1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be decieved: Evil company corupts good habits. Awake to righteousness and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God."

Want to see this playing out in our lives right now? Just watch your kids. My son has a neighborhood friend that does not have the knowledge of God. Everytime he is with her, he comes home displaying traits that I'm not proud of. We are working with him to demonstrate Christ in all that he does when with her.

It takes a lot of work you know; demonstrating Christ to those around us who don't know Him. Sometimes our lives demonstrate the opposite of that! Don't be dishearted. Our labor to follow Him, serve Him, honor Him in all that we do is never in vain.

"O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
