It can definitely be said about me that I like to take care of my problems on my own, if I am in sin my natural tendency is to "fix it" or try and overcome it on my own. This weekend, while up at the #menference in Prescott with a bunch of guys from Church, God, like He is always so faithful to do, hit me with my sin. Now we were encouraged, told, sometimes even held down and beaten until we publicly confessed our sin (not really but you get the point) but me I like to try and operate out of my own strength.

This morning I was reading in Psalms 18 (you need to read the whole thing but to long to post here) and David is giving testimony to God's deliverance in his life, God used a few verses to remind me that is HE that delivers us, HE that cleanses us, HE that guides, leads, and sanctifies.

Psalm 18:16-19

16 He sent from on high, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
But the Lord was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a broad place;
He rescued me, because He delighted in me.

Read how many times it says HE did something and how many times David did it(hint its zero).

Hey ya moron, its not you its HE who rescued, its HE who delivers, its HE who saves. That is why He says confess and repent(turn and go the other way) not fix your own dang problems because you are the problem!

So don't be a moron like me James 4:7-8 says Submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners(aka morons) purify your hearts, you double minded!

Submit, draw near to Him. Confess, Repent and He will deliver.
