Flawless

Walk with Jesus

If you have been a part of West Valley Bible Church or attended any of the services, you have probably heard more than once about the importance of being in God's word daily. You've heard how a personal relationship with Jesus means being in His word and letting it renew you each and every day.

If you are a new believer or you find yourself struggling to stay consistent in your time with Him, try reading the chapter of Proverbs (at the very least) that corresponds with the calendar day. You might find the author speaking directly to you and your situation. Last night (June 29th) I was reading Proverbs 30 and verse 5 jumped out at me. "Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him".

Who (or what) do you take refuge in? Your nice house, your bank account, your job? Is it worse then that? Do you take refuge in a sinful relationship, a destructive addition? Are anything of these things even close to being flawless? I think not!

What joy it is for us to have a God who is perfect, flawless to shield us from this world and from evil! What joy it is that the creator of the universe knows each and every hair on your head. I love that song by Casting Crowns, "Already There". God knows everything you will ever experience, already! He isn't surprise by things that happen to you. He is ready to be your shield if you'll only take refuge in him.

If you are reading this and you don't know Jesus as your personal Savior or you don't know what it means to have a personal relationship with Him, you can right now, right where you are at, stop and pray. The words aren't important; what's in your heart is. You can pray something like "Lord Jesus, I admit that I'm a sinner. I believe that you are the Son of God who died on the cross and rose again, conquering death. You died so that I might live with you for eternity in heaven. Lord, I cannot continue to live my life without you. Fill me with your spirit to guide me and help me".

If you prayed that prayer or something like it, we would love to talk and pray with you. Come see us this Sunday or connect with us at www.wvbconline.org or west valley bible church on facebook.
