Bush in the Desert

Walk with Jesus

Was challenged to find a passage that could help me with an area in my walk that, well let's say needs improving or I miss the boat on. For me it can be summed up as, trying to do things in my own strength instead of being led by the Spirit.

In Luke 4, the temptation of Jesus, verse one talks about how the Holy Spirit led Jesus to the wilderness to be tempted by Satan, and He obeyed. See to me that would have fit under the "no brainer category" being in the wilderness alone with the devil doesn't seem like a good idea to me, next.

That's where I fail, who am I to think I know which way I should go, and how foolish of me to think I know more then God (which is what I am doing when not being led by Holy Spirit).

So the passage I am memorizing to help with my weakness is Jeremiah 17:5-7

Jeremiah 17:5-7
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
5 Thus says the Lord,
“Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind
And makes flesh his strength,
And whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6 “For he will be like a bush in the desert
And will not see when prosperity comes,
But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness,
A land of salt without inhabitant.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord
And whose trust is the Lord.

...AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING...
