Ah...Thanksgiving

The house is quiet tonight. I'm sitting in disbelief among the cans of pumpkin and boxes of stuffing that will soon be whipped into the traditional feast. How did we get here already. After tomorrow, we'll just be a hop, skip, and a jump to Christmas and 2017!

I was reading Titus earlier today. Not one of the most mentioned bible books, written by Paul. I'm generally a thankful person, but this part in chapter 3 really says it all: "At one time, we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of this mercy. He saved us through the washings of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grave, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." (Titus 3:3-7)

I'm thankful for His mercy being poured out on me. I'm thankful that I'm no longer enslaved but that I received "the kindness and love of God our Savior". I'm thankful that I've been justified by His grave, because left to my own devices, I would never, ever, have the hope of eternal life.

Enjoy the day tomorrow. Enjoy the friends, family, or whatever God has brought in your life. Have a grateful heart being thankful for Jesus Christ!
