Don't Be a Go-To Guy!

Pray

As each of us move through our lives, the busy stuff that can keep us distracted from the Word. Things to do, appointments to keep. And yet our frequent cry is for confidence and the mind to rest in our decisions.

Imagine for a moment, that tomorrow you will be Joshua, trying to devise a plan to take Jericho. Just your average "go-to guy" kind of day. Quick, look up Joshua 5:13-15, "and behold, a man was standing before him, with his drawn sword in his hand..." Warren Wiersbe's Commentary here reads: "Before Joshua conquered Jericho, he went out to survey the situation, and he met the Lord Jesus Christ. Joshua discovered that he was second in command! The Lord had a sword in His hand and Joshua fell at His feet in complete submission. It was this action in private that gave Joshua his public victory."

Without even seeking God, Joshua came face to face with the solution to Jericho, follow Jesus!
Before that next life decision, large or small, survey the situation, Jesus is already there, watch for the glinting steel of the Lord's sword and follow His lead.
